If we do manage to lose this one it will really put the kibosh on yet another generally mediocre season. When I think many of us were expecting a little better.

Were we? I don't think any of us knew what to expect, after the first four games, I expect plenty feared the worst.BondsoBob wrote:When I think many of us were expecting a little better.
People are claiming Wolves, are having a brilliant season, yet we are only 5pts behind them with 24 still left to play for.
Yes we have lacked consistency in getting the results we want, but on the whole we have consistently tried to win by playing football and for now that'll do for me, as long as we see progression next season and a will to go further in the cups.
I think Pellegrini is doing a good job, and will continue to do so, as long as he is backed in the summer.
Anyway..
1-2 to Uddersfield..

I don't hold much hope for it either, to be honest mate.

Clearly the danger is that we are complacent and they play with some freedom now that they are down. We know they are well-organised and will put in a shift but we should still be able to lift our game. This is a good chance to keep ahead of Everton/Leicester and put some pressure (!) on Watford and Wolves who don't play this weekend.

Taking my boy to his first "proper" game for his 6th birthday (took him to the pre season friendly at Upton Park as a 2 yr old, just so he would have been there at least once)
Hoping for a comfortable home win which I think we'll get. We're strong at home and lets face it, they might huff and puff like Fulham did, but Huddersfield are dog **** this season.
Arnie has got to start for me. Still our best striker despite the stuff that went on in Jan and personally I've had enough of Hernandez diving and handball antics and the fact that he throws himself onto the floor everytime he feels a defenders breath on his back.
3-0 to the Irons

Can't help but feel as though everything about tomorrow will be a struggle.
Travel to the stadium is going to be a nightmare, weather is most likely going to be wet and windy, opposition are nothing to get excited about, atmosphere is likely going to be rubbish, can see us getting dragged into a tough physical battle and I can see it being a tight and dull 1-1 or something...
Very hard to get up for it truth be told.

I'm not normally one for being over optimistic before a match but we really should be caning this lot, 3-0 as a minimum scoreline. They are dogshit and we have a winning run on the go at home. What could go wrong?!BondsoBob wrote:If we do manage to lose this one it will really put the kibosh on yet another generally mediocre season. When I think many of us were expecting a little better.

If it wasn't for our strong showing in December, we'd be f*cked.

What a miserable bunch! Only takes one loss doesn’t it?
We were dreadful at Cardiff but we’ve been good at home for a few months now. Huddersfield are awful. We have everyone fit. It’ll be a little breezy but probably no rain so hardly difficult conditions.
I don’t pretend to be Nostradamus but I was confident about the Newcastle game but not about the Cardiff one. I’m confident we will win this one no problem. 3-1 I reckon - late consolation for them due sloppiness from us.

Anyone else of the opinion we should now leave the likes of Obiang, Perez out of the squad and give Holland, Silva, Coventry a bit of time ? Highly likely some will be gone in the summer and they probably know it.

Fabianski
Zab
Masuaku
Diop
Ogbonna
Rice
Obiang
Lanzini
Antonio
Anderson
Hernandez
People may think I am mad for playing Masuaku, but for whatever his defensive failings we are better going forward when he plays, and we have struggled for goals in open play recently
I would hope we have enough in the rest of the side to compensate
I do expect Balbuena to come back in, and Pellegrini may decide to give Diop the weekend off

I would bring Diangana and Silva into the 18, certainly.viperracer wrote:Anyone else of the opinion we should now leave the likes of Obiang, Perez out of the squad and give Holland, Silva, Coventry a bit of time ? Highly likely some will be gone in the summer and they probably know it.
I think Zabaleta, Nasri and Carroll are all out of contract and should be sidelined. Perez also. I'm not sure that there's much more value in watching either/both of Noble and Snodgrass start every game given the way the table looks. Hernandez is another who should be peripheral at most.
Let's see Fredericks every week (or Johnson)...let's see if Lanzini, Anderson and Arnie works.....Antonio and Diangana to share the fourth attacking spot, occasionally Snodgrass.
Rice to have Obiang/Snodgrass/Noble in rotation alongside him.

i forgot we had no game on the 23rd.Puff Daddy wrote:

if we did have a game, i think he may have given Diop a rest as he has played a lot and has looked a little off the pace recently IMHO
Re: ⚽West Ham Utd v Huddersfield Town: match thread (16/3)
I would certainly put the youngsters on the bench and try to give them some game depending how the games pan out.viperracer wrote:Anyone else of the opinion we should now leave the likes of Obiang, Perez out of the squad and give Holland, Silva, Coventry a bit of time ? Think I saw something saying West Ham have the biggest percentage increase in points in the premier league this season. Not sure how that can make this anything other than a good season - reality is we’re nowhere near the top 6 so fighting for 7th was always as good as it was going to get this year.
