Only if he is committed to it.

I don't see it personally.

puts him in a similar group as Rondon, Deeney, Deulefeo, Sigurdsson, Jota, Brooks etc
Those players are nowhere near a goal or assist every 120-130 minutes except Deleufeo who picked up 4 in a single game v Cardiff.

None of them are performing at the same level as Arnautovic was in the first half of the season. Rondon is about 1 every 150, Deeney's miles behind and he takes penalties.

just done some analysis on performance per minute and as you rightly say Arnoutovic's stats up to and including the Arsenal game were strong in the context of goals and assists a goal or assist every 112 minutes

Over the course of the full season he is on one every 143 minutes

As context for other players outside of the top 6 [these are the best i think]:

Wilson = 1 every 90 minutes
Jiminez = 1 every 123 minutes
Javier Hernandez = 1 every 124 minutes
Vardy = 1 every 125 minutes
Deulefeu - 1 every 128 minutes

Our disinterested primadonna who doesn't want to be here and isn't good enough for us has got us out of jail today.

Proper striker.

As long as he is happy to stay, I see absolutely no reason to sell him.

in and out of the side, I would move on were it me...

Stroppy one gets a pay raise and derails our season and the only one really twatted off is Hernandez because of his dive last week...…

On second and third viewings his winning goal was a bloody excellent header.

Knew exactly what he was doing, a deft header at a difficult angle.

Loved his diving header too... reminded me of the one by Rosenior against Forest in that old 3-3 years ago.

Honestly I'm getting bored of typing this.

Arnautovic got an increase to his performance based incentives. It's not a pay rise as hes not earning it.

Also Arnie is constantly 'twatted off' on here.

well whose bloody fault is it that he's not earning his performance based increases

were he to then he would be getting more money wouldn't he ?

so in actual fact he WAS placed in a situation whereby he COULD earn more money if he could be arsed.

It's his own fault, not the owners, not Pellegrini, its Arnautovic.

How is that an issue? We were in a tough situation. If we sold him for the £25 million bid there would have been uproar, so we arranged some performance based incentives to keep him interested. It hasn't worked, no harm done.

8 goals now for JH, not bad for a player in and out of the team.

Came off the bench and scored two cracking headers to win us the game. Stunned reading on the matchday thread some still giving him some stick.

jackhammer

we were never in a situation to sell him for 25M

nor were we in a position where we needed to chuck more incentives at him either

I am pretty sure today they said he hasn't scored since early November - did we feel that we needed then to chuck money at him as an incentive to do what he's paid for ? score bloody goals or assist them ?

I'm gobsmacked that some are happy with that

He all but handed in a transfer request, the only bid we got was a pathetic one from China.

The options were sell him under value, let him rot in the reserves, or try to get him to perform by essentially black mailing him.

He scored two against Brighton in January, hasn't scored since. I honestly cant blame the board for trying to get him to perform with the contract changes, it's a no lose situation, if he was still banging the goals in brilliant, if he does as he has done and is pretty useless, no harm done as hes not earning anymore

I think that Javier Hernandez now has the most Premier League goals as a substitute.

I might be wrong, though.
