Re: Things you've always wanted to know......
They were late, somewhat of a massive plot contrivance that. I can't remember the full movie that has a bunch of scenes added that missed the theatrical cut (Jake quitting his job, and nicking the can of glue etc.) very well, but I don't particularly remember a scene where they delayed or misdirected the Good Old Boys in advance of them rocking up at Bob's Country Bunker, and nicking their gig. Just a bit of lazy writing, which in the grand scheme of things, hardly dents what is one of the most rewatchable movies of all time.James P wrote:What I don’t understand is The Good Old Boys turned up when the bar was closing??? They missed the gig! What’s that all about?

If I log into Gmail tethered to my personal mobile and send an email through it but the hardware I'm using is my work laptop. Could my firm any way of ever seeing that email.
If they can is it so remote a possibility that I can probably send it without concern?

If it was through your work email, obviously definitely yes.White Goodman wrote:If I log into Gmail tethered to my personal mobile and send an email through it but the hardware I'm using is my work laptop. Could my firm any way of ever seeing that email.
However, you are emailing it through a password protected third party email account so, unless you save your password or they are actively monitoring your doings at that very moment, you would think that it should be fairly safe to do.
I'd wait 'til someone who knows what they're talking about, answers you!

Anyway, back to The Blues Brothers.
Is it just The Commitments in Pork Pie Hats?

Re: Things you've always wanted to know......
went to the pre-opening of The Blue Brothers in 'ouston courtesy of a local rock station back in the day.
free tee shirt, on the front Belushi and Ackroyd caricatures as TBB and on the back - "We're on a mission from God."
the amount of people who offered me stuff for that...
never sold it...eventually it wore out (or I outgrew it !!!)
as for The Commitments...my go to feel good movie...
brilliant............
what did Evel Kneivel want...
he said that God sent him
what - on a f**king Suzuki..
I've just seen Imelda Quirk's arse......

Re: Things you've always wanted to know......
Thanks but that's my point if they are not providing my connection to the internet then surely they can't be monitoring what I'm doing? I was more concerned that there might be some residual trace of that webpage in my computer's history once I'm reconnected back to the work network but assume if they tried to access it , then it would ask them for a password?Samba wrote: Or they are actively monitoring your doings at that very moment,

Always treat the laptop like an internet cafe device & you should be ok.
Perhaps clear your history/cookies as well, after every use?

Given that the Blues Brothers was made first, I’d suggest that if anything, The Commitments is The Blues Brothers without pork pie hats.prophet:marginal wrote:Anyway, back to The Blues Brothers.

Anyway, back onto the thread subject ... what are the great big covers with team logos that are used for big sporting events made of, and what happens to them after the game kicks off. An example are the huge Man C and Watford ones draped across the pitch as the National Anthem was being warbled out.
Seems to me that they are totally pointless, a waste of money and an unnecessary use of plastic.

Why didn't Kanye & Fat A*se call their latest, Haverford?
Apparently they've named it after a recording studio, Sarm West.
Oh, hang on a minute, it's Psalm, not Sarm.
At least there's nothing pretentious about that..

Why is the rule about putting the ball into the middle of the scrum in rugby never upheld? They don’t even pretend to make it look like a fair put in half the time.

It's the same in football with taking a free kick or throw in in the correct place.James P wrote:Why is the rule about putting the ball into the middle of the scrum in rugby never upheld? They don’t even pretend to make it look like a fair put in half the time.

^ Or foul throws, which happen more or less every single match.
