Premier League
West Ham United 0-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

West Ham slumped to a fourth successive Premier League defeat as newly-promoted Wolves snatched all three points in Stratford with an injury time winner.

Manuel Pellegrini's side go into the international break bottom of the Premier League and pointless after losing all four of their Premier League outings so far.

And that leaves the Chilean manager very much under pressure having spent in the region of ??100million during pre-season in an attempt to improve his squad.

For only the second time in the club's history, West Ham have started a season in the top flight with four defeats (the last being in 2010, when Avram Grant led West Ham to the Championship).

And there was little for home fans to be optimistic about today as the Hammers failed to test Wolves' equally-new team in front of a frustrated Stratford crowd.

The only goal of the game arrived in third of four minutes of additional time, with CarlossSanchez - who had looked comfortable up until that point - losing possession cheaply in midfield.

The ball found its way to substitute Adama Traore, who beat the previously unflappable Fabianski inside his near post to register the game's only goal.

To their credit, the West Ham fans had backed their team until that point - which will no doubt have pleased Pellegrini, who mentioned how the stadium had started emptying after 80 minutes against Bournemouth.

However the disappointment at the final whistle was palpable, with the goal being the signal for a mass exodus to begin this week.

There is little respite for West Ham after the international break, with dates against Everton, Chelsea and Manchester United to follow.

Quite how Pellegrini manages to pick his squad up after today's particularly-concerning defeat remains to be seen.
