Meanwhile West Ham, who went into the game having won five of their six previous December fixtures were distinctly second best and a long way from the team that has impressed so.
Chris Wood scored the opening goal for Burnley with 15 minutes on the clock having taken advantage of some poor defending from West Ham's two central defenders.
And youngster Dwight McNeil added a second for the Clarets 11 minutes ahead of the break when Angelo Ogbonna's attempted clearance landed at the feet of a Burnley player, from where it was directed to McNeil to convert.

Burnley 2-0 West Ham United
Sunday, 30th December 2018
by Staff Writer
West Ham ended 2018 in disappointing fashion with a 2-0 defeat at Turf Moor against struggling Burnley.
Despite having spent much of the season in the bottom three, and having only won three Premier League matches prior to this afternoon, the Clarets were fully deserving of their win which could quite easily have been far more comprehensive.Embed from Getty Images
