Calls for the head of Glenn Roeder reverberated around Millmoor this afternoon as the Hammers boss saw his side fall to a 1-0 defeat against Rotherham United this afternoon.

Darren Byfield's first-half strike was enough to condemn the Hammers to their first Nationwide League defeat of the season - and increase calls for Roeder's resignation from the travelling Hammers support.

If that wasn't bad enough the Hammers also managed to involve themselves in an off-field fracas after it was revealed that Roeder refused to allow his team change in the Millmoor dressing rooms before the game because of the - in his eyes - substandard condition.

Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore admitted after the game that he used the incident to spur his side on, despite denials of any such incident coming from the Hammers camp.

And his team talk certainly had the desired effect as the Millers outplayed and outclassed a miserable Hammers side, who only looked like scoring when Jermain Defoe hit the post after the break.
