Hammers boss Alan Pardew has denied rumours that Steve Lomas could be on his way to Nottingham Forest for the remainder of the season.

Speculation emerging yesterday afternoon suggested that Lomas was on his way to the City Ground for the remainder of the season with view to a possible permanent deal, with full-back Matthieu Louis-Jean coming the other way in a £250k switch.

As yet Pardew has refused to comment on the rumours surrounding Louis-Jean, but he was quick to deny the speculation regarding Lomas and defender Tomas Repka, who has also been linked with a loan move in this morning's tabloids.

Speaking to whufc.com this morning, Pardew said:

"There has been absolutely no discussion regarding Steve Lomas and Tomas Repka going to any club.

"It is just paper talk, and there is no substance to it."

28-year-old Louis-Jean joined Forest nearly six years ago , moving to England from French side Le Havre.

The full-back has made 189 appearances for Forest during his spell at the City Ground, scoring on 3 occasions.

Booked just 4 times this season, Louis-Jean has been a virtual ever-present for Joe Kinnear's side this season.
