West Ham's reserves drew yet another blank in a goalless draw at Highfield Road against Coventry City last night.

The second string recorded their fourth draw in five games against a young Coventry side - featuring recent signing (16-year-old) Tom Bates - themselves coming off the back of a good win against Leicester last week.

Chances were few and far between; new signing Clive Delaney went closest for the Hammers when he saw a close range header cleared off the line; Richard Garcia also forced a good save out of City keeper Fabien Debec but that was about all the Hammers could muster.

With goalkeeper Stephen Bywater on England duty David Forde stepped in for his third reserve outing of the season - and he won't have many quieter nights than this. His only real save of note came from Argentinian Juan Sara, whose weak first-half shot from only six yards was parried onto the post by the former Barry Town man.

Next up for the Hammers are another Midlands side - Derby County, who visit Victoria Road next Tuesday evening.
