Big names back for Stoke test

West Ham are expected to welcome four first team players back for Tuesday night's visit of Stoke City.

The Hammers are likely to be boosted by the return of Malky Mackay, Carl Fletcher, Matthew Etherington and Teddy Sheringham - all of whom missed saturday's deeply disappointing 1-0 defeat against QPR at Loftus Road.

However still out are Calum Davenport and Christian Dailly - although Davenport is expected to return by the weekend when basement boys Gillingham visit the Boleyn Ground.

Alan Pardew confirmed the good news, telling whufc.co.uk:

"There is a chance for Matt Etherington on Tuesday; the physio team have worked terrifically on him and he is very, very close, so he could return.

"Davenport is doubtful for Tuesday and there is probably a better chance for him Saturday, but Mackay will be fit and I think Teddy will be.

"Carl Fletcher was unlucky in that he picked up a bug in the Welsh camp but he will be okay this week."
