On loan defender Calum Davenport is set to return to action against Plymouth on Saturday after missing the last four games through injury.

Davenport - who was injured whilst playing for the England under-21's earlier in the month - has missed the matches against QPR, Stoke, Gillingham and Chelsea, during which the Hammers have kept just the one clean sheet.

He looks set to replace Anton Ferdinand in the heart of the defence, despite Ferdinand enjoying a solid performance against Chelsea in midweek.

Meanwhile, today's Sun reports that Davenport would like to remain at Upton Park for the remainder of the season; he is quoted as saying:

"I know West Ham want to keep me for the rest of the season and, if that was to happen, I’d be delighted.

"I’ve settled in quickly and the people here have helped me do that, which makes things easier."
