Neil Warnock shares his wit and wisdom at the post-match press conference following today's stalemate at the Boleyn...

Neil Warnock - Sheffield United

Well here we are again. I just said well we can't play you here again but someone pointed out we could meet in the play-offs! I forgot about that.

It’s difficult to come to West Ham twice in three weeks and get results. They’ve had one or two bits of stick flying about but I don’t think there’s much wrong really. They’re gonna be very close at the end of the season and they’ve got as much chance as anyone. I shall be very happy if we finish above West Ham.

Alan’s players showed their commitment with the bookings. The young lad in particular (Noble) will have to be careful and he’ll need some sort of guidance. I thought that was a horrendous challenge that was worthy of a straight red card rather than a yellow. Dermot (Gallagher) was in a sympathetic mood this afternoon. Noble won’t get away with that often in his career. Hopefully when he sees the replay of that he’ll be disappointed. Montgomery’s lucky not to have a broken leg. Other than that there were genuine challenges. It was a typical cup-tie..

In the first half West Ham must have thought that they were going to win the game. It was a fabulous goal from Marlon> he scored one like that a couple of years ago up at Bramall Lane. I remember saying “what a great goal”. Again today I found myself saying “that’s a great goal”- until I realised we were 1-0 down! It was one of those goals wasn’t it.

To our credit we could have folded under the pressure at that particular time but we managed to hang on in there until half-time. We made one or two little changes and we were more positive second half and thought we deserved the draw. It was a good build up to the goal before the cross and the header. Jagielka deserved his goal – I though he was head and shoulders the best man on the pitch today.

Marlon’s goal celebration? I never understand his celebrations. Over the years he’s given me various bits of “enjoyment”. I don’t know whether it was directed at me. I don’t think it was was it? I love to see players celebrate – take their shirt off, throw it up in the air. Why should anyone get a booking for that? Bookings should be for the tackles. I mean Repka gets a booking for that. As if West Ham are gonna waste time when they’re drawing one each! I don’t understand football sometimes. I know there’s rules and regulations but I think the game’s bent if you can get a booking for Repka’s and the same punishment for Noble’s. I think the game’s bent me! It can’t be the same punishment for those two things. I don’t know.

Don’t say that I accused the referee of being bent will you lads! I donn’t think that. You get what you see with Dermot but I know you lads. One headline said this morning that I don’t like Pardew. I never said anything of the sort. What I said was that I don’t get on too well with him then the Warnock hates Pardew headlines appear.

That’s a great FA Cup tie. It’s close and the tackles are flying in. You couldn’t tell me that both teams were concentrating on the league today. Both teams were going hell for leather for a result today.

I do feel passionate about the FA Cup – have done ever since I was a little kid. I remember listening to matches on the old valve radio. Then everybody stops for the draw on Monday . we’ll all be hoping for Man Utd away, a good payday and get out!
