Alan Pardew has revealed that he will start talking to possible new signings as early as this week, following West Ham's promotion to the Premiership.

Despite the euphoria of the Hammers' 1-0 win against Preston still hanging over East London boss Pardew has confirmed that he will be looking to enhance his squad for the 05/06 season immediately.

Talking to Sky Sports this morning, he said:

"The window for us to sign players is smaller because of the play-offs, so it is not going to be much of a summer for me.

"In my mind there are some areas where we need to strengthen, and I have already lined up somebody to talk to this week.

"The players are not stupid. They know I am going to have to bring in at least three or four new players."

One player thought to be on Pardew's 'wanted' list is Brentford centre-half Sam Sodje, who is also thought to be interesting Blackburn Rovers.
