Chris cross

Veteran full back Chris Powell has re-joined Charlton in a somewhat suprise move according to Skyports.

The former England full back left the Valley less than a year ago to aid West Ham in their push for promotion. Initially signed on a short term contract he was fully expected to sign a year's extension, after turning in a string of steady performances in his 42 appearances for the Hammers.

However negotiations over his new contract hadn't progressed as he wished and he has sensationally decided to team up once again with Alan Curbishley.

This move follows the £1.5m signing of Paul Konchesky, ironically from Charlton who was widely tipped to be competing with Powell for the left back slot.
