West Ham move up to ninth place in the Premiership thanks to a 2-1 win against Middlesbrough at The Boleyn Ground this afternoon.
Goals from Teddy Sheringham and an oggie by Mark Schwarzer gave the Hammers their fourth league win of the campaign, whilst Franck Queudrue's 87th minute consolation gave the scoreline a tighter look than perhaps it should have had.
West Ham were good value for money overall, although Alan Pardew's side had to wait until the 66th minute to break the deadlock.
Teddy Sheringham, on for less than a minute after replacing Bobby Zamora turned home a Paul Konchesky cross to give the Hammers a lead which was doubled eight minutes later when 'Boro keeper Mark Schwarzer was adjudged to have turned the ball over his own line; TV replays were inconclusive, at best.
Queudrue's goal three minutes from time gave the final moments added urgency but the Hammers stood strong to preserve a lead which sees them rise above Blackburn into ninth spot.
