Chris Cohen has joined League One side Yeovil on a month's loan.

The 18-year-old has found himself on the periphery of the first team squad this season making just one appearance, that in the Carling Cup victory against Sheffield Wednesday.

Yeovil boss Steve Thompson is an admirer of the versatile youngster and is keen to make the move a permanent one. However, West Ham have refused to allow Cohen to play in the Huish Park sides' forthcoming FA Cup replay against Macclesfield, to prevent him from being cup-tied.

Cohen saw a previous loan move to Bournemouth fall through earlier in the season due to an injury.

Meanwhile Welsh international Gavin Williams looks set to join Championship side Ipswich Town in a two-month loan deal. Like Cohen, he has found himself on the fringes of the first team squad.

Williams who made an impressive start to his West Ham career following a £250,000 move from Yeovil has seen his spell in East London blighted by injury.
