Hammers out of favour defender Rigobert Song has signed a four year contract with Racing Club De Lens, according to the French first Division club's official website.

Song, who captained Cameroon during their recent World Cup adventure was officially unveiled at a press conference this afternoon as one of three new signings for Lens. He sat alongside new teammates Seydou Keita and Dagui Bakari in the ceremony, and professed to being 'delighted' with the move from East London.

The 26-year-old defender joined West Ham in a £2.5m move from Liverpool in December 2000, but only played a handful of games before falling out of favour first with previous manager Harry Redknapp, then Glenn Roeder, who packed him off to Germany on loan with Cologne for much of last season.

The fee remains undisclosed, although is thought to be in the region of £2-3m. He joins a long list of players to be shown the exit door at Upton Park since Roeder took over the helm at Upton Park a year ago this month.

* The club are thought to be set to confirm their first signing of the close season. An announcement from within Upton Park is expected within the next week to ten days.

Glenn Roeder had previously stated that he hoped to confirm the signing of at least two new players before the end of June.
