Swedish international midfielder Kim Kallström - a reported transfer target of Alan Pardew's - has signed for French outfit Lyon.

The talented 24-year-old has been linked with a move to West Ham several times in the past few weeks but today confirmed that he was leaving Rennes to join fellow Ligue 1 side Lyon.

Kallström - a goalscoring midfielder - is set to face England in the World Cup this summer in Germany.

* The last Swede to play for West Ham was Niclas Alexandersson, signed by Trevor Brooking on loan from Everton back in September 2003.
