And Bobby stays too

Alan Pardew has replied to suggestions in the weekend press that Bobby Zamora is looking to quit West Ham.

A story that appeared in a number of Sunday papers claimed that Zamora was unhappy at Pardew for signing Carlton Cole, a fifth striker in the current first team squad.

And without commenting specifically on the rumours of Zamora's discontent, Pardew reiterated his desire to keep his current squad intact - whilst confirming that any bids for the former Brighton man would be unwelcome.

"I'll say the same thing about Bobby that I said about Marlon last week," Pardew said on whufc.com. "He is not for sale.

"People can create as much speculation as they like, but none of our strikers are going anywhere."

And if any reassurance was needed by Zamora regarding his first team opportunities next season, Pardew added:

"Bobby is very much a part of our plans and he will be fighting for a first team spot on an equal footing with the other guys at the start of the season.

"I'm sure he has got a very good chance of winning himself a place in the team. I have five excellent strikers here now and they will all have a part to play next season."
