West Ham v Newcastle: half-time report

West Ham go into the break on level terms with.Newcastle in this afternoon's Premier League encounter.
Chances for both sides have been few and far between in a fairly mundane first 45 minutes.The closest West Ham came to breaking the deadlock came as half-time approached, when Lee Bowyer's audacious 45-yard effort flew narrowly wide of Shay Given's far post.
