Mystery still surrounds the incident in which Arsenal's Robin Van Persie claimed to have been hit by a missile thrown from the crowd during West Ham's 1-0 win over Arsenal on last Sunday.

Van Persie fell to the floor clutching the back of his head midway through the first half of Sunday's London derby - whilst a Police officer found a two pence coin in the vicinity close to where the Arsenal striker fell moments later.

However West Ham United were unable to find the perpretrator from their close-circuit TV system - whilst a frame-by-frame replay of the incident on TV fails to show any evidence of an object hitting the Dutchman immediately prior to him falling to the ground.

West Ham United have appealed to supporters present at the game and in the area close to where the coin was allegedly launched from to come forward help find the coin thrower. As of yet, nobody is believed to have done so.
