The Premier League have announced that the hearing at which West Ham United will answer charges of breaching league rules will begin on April 26th.

The hearing - which will be overseen by a three-man independent commision - is expected to last for two days.

The case will be chaired by Simon Bourne-Anton QC, with Lord Herman Ouseley and David Dent making up the commision.

West Ham have claimed their innocence regarding the charges, which relate to the circumstances in which Javier Mascherano - now of Liverpool - and Carlos Tevez joined the club last August.

Chairman Eggert Magnusson said last month that he would 'vigorously defend' the club - despite the charges relating to a period prior to his consortium purchasing the club from the disgraced Terry Brown.

West Ham are charged with breaking Premier League rules U18 and B13.
