West Ham United will be playing Premiership football next season thanks to a stunning win at Old Trafford this afternoon.

Carlos Tevez's strike on the stroke of half-time was enough to give the Hammers all three points against a decidedly lacklustre Manchester United.

More to follow once we've caught our breath ...

''I still think we were very lucky not to have been docked points, but deserve so much credit for the performance over the last nine games. I am a bit sad for Blades fans but if it stops 5Live, Match of the Day etc etc showing footage of Mr Warnock moaning about Rob Stiles, Carlos, Sir Alex, Rafa Benitez etc then I will really enjoy my celebrations.''

''Tears streaming down my face - total joy. The squad, management and fans should be so proud of West Ham today. 30 years a fan and I still think they're the greatest club in the world.''

''I never want an afternoon like this one again! Well done to the whole team. I've always been proud to be West Ham but today, I'm that little bit more so. Looking forward to next season now and hopefully seeing Ashton playing alongside Tevez!''
