Giant striker Nikola Zigic has confessed that he regrets not joining West Ham United last year.

The 6'7" Racing Santander forward was heavily linked with a move to East London 18 months ago during the January transfer window, but eventually opted to move to Spain.

But after a year or so at Santander, the Serb says he wishes he had moved to London instead.

Zigic's agent, Milan Calasan, who is currently brokering a deal to take his client to Manchester City, said last night:

"All players want to play in England. The Premier League is one of the best competitions in the world.

"Nikola had the chance to go to West Ham last year, but it did not happen - and that is one of his biggest regrets."

Alan Pardew was particularly keen to bring the striker to the club but chose instead to spend his tranfer window funds on Dean Ashton (and Yaniv Katan).
