West Ham grabbed a valuable away point at Fratton Park this afternoon with a 0-0 draw against Portsmouth.

The Hammers were fully deserving of a share of the spoils after a decent performance against a Portsmouth side that had won their four previous Premier League fixtures.

But the Hammers still had to rely on goalkeeper Robert Green to save a point after the home side were awarded a controversial penalty in the fourth minute of injury time.

Danny Gabbidon was adjudged to be inside the area when he hand-balled, giving the home side a last-gasp opportunity to snatch all three points.

However Green stood firm to deny Benjani and secure a vital - and much deserved - point for Alan Curbishley's side.

More to follow soon ...

West Ham United: Green, Neill, McCartney, Upson, Gabbidon, Mullins, Noble, Solano, Boa Morte, Bellamy, Cole.

Subs: Wright, Ferdinand, Bowyer, Etherington, Camara.
