West Ham Utd v Blackburn: half-time report

Filed: Saturday, 15th March 2008
By: Staff Writer

West Ham United find themselves level at the break in this afternoon's Premier League clash with Blackburn.

Roque Santa Cruz gave the visitors the lead after he nodded home a Morten Gamst Pedersen cross as the Hammers were caught out by a classic counter-attack sucker punch.

But Dean Ashton restored parity for United with his first goal since the 2-1 win over Fulham in January five minutes before the break. The 25-year-old striker turned expertly before deftly lobbing Blackburn keeper Brad Friedel.

We'll have more for you at the final whistle.
