Alan Curbishley has revealed that Julien Faubert is still some weeks away from being available for selection.
Faubert missed the first six months of the season after tearing his achilles in pre-season. Despite making six appearances since returning in January the French international has been missing since taking a heavy blow on the ankle in the game against Chelsea at the begnning of this month - and is not likely to return until next month at the earliest.
"In all fairness we pushed Faubert back a little bit too early because of the situation we found ourselves in round about the Man City games," admitted Alan Curbishley.
"He came on as sub and had a couple more games but wasn't 100 per cent right so we decided to strip him down and take our time with him.
"He's fit, but we want to get him fitter for when he returns. The injury problems aren't so acute now so we'll take our time with him.
"Hopefully he'll be the one that comes back before the end of the season."
