Deano slams boo boys

Dean Ashton has hit out at the fans who booed Luis Boa Morte at the weekend.

The Portuguese winger was jeered by some sections of the Boleyn crowd whilst preparing to replace the injured Freddie Ljungberg during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Newcastle.

"Boa Morte doesn't deserve to be booed before he comes on the pitch because he gives everything," said Ashton, talking to whutv.

"All the lads know that so obviously we're disappointed about that."

Boa Morte has been booed by some of the club's fans since being dismissed against Tottenham at the start of March.

However the dissenters were drowned out by a spontaneous burst of applause on Saturday from supporters.

Unsurprisingly perhaps, the midfielder went on to have one of his best games of the season.
