Davide Lanzafame has insisted that he wants to move to West Ham United - despite late interest from Palermo.

The Sicilians - who United played in the UEFA Cup two seasons ago - are hoping to land the Juve striker in exchange for Brazilian striker Amauri who is set to join the Turin giants.

But 21-year-old Lanzafame has told the Italian media that given a choice, he would prefer to move to England in order to join the Hammers.

"Palermo and West Ham are both huge clubs," he said.

"But at my age I think it would be beneficial to have an experience abroad, which would enhance me not only as a footballer, but also from a linguistic and lifestyle point of view."

Lanzafame spent last season on loan with Bari for whom he scored 10 goals from 33 appearances.
