The freshest rumours from the media regarding possible ins and outs this January transfer window...

As reported in KUMB.com's main news section, the Hammers are hot on the trail of both Pablo Daniel Osvaldo and Savio Nsereko with Mario Balotelli, as previously mentioned on these pages, also being eyed.

Meanwhile one Italian newspaper carries a story today listing the four players most likely to join the Hammers, which includes the three aforementioned youngsters plus Palermo's Edison Cavani, another of Gianfranco's former Italian under-21s.

...and outs

Newcastle are once again being linked with full-back and club captain Lucas Neill. Neill, whose contract expires this summer has admitted privately that he would like to extend his stay in East London but the Magpies are said by the Daily Mail to be reconsidering a 2million offer, despite being criticised by Gianfranco Zola last weekend for having spoken with Neill's agent sans permission.

French Champions Lyon are yet again being linked with West Ham's want-away winger Julien Faubert. The former Bordeaux player, who joined United in a 6million deal two years ago has recently singalled his dissatisfaction at life in England and is thought to be keen to return to his homeland. Lyon 'advisor' Bernard Lacombe told Le 10 Sport last night that "Faubert is a player that is capable of getting our attention," - whatever that means exactly.

''It would be shame to see Faubert go but if you can't get on with the manager that's it. As for Neill, good luck to Newcastle - we are better off without him.''

''I think the quote "Faubert is a player that is capable of getting our attention," means they would take him back if he stops playing like a knob and starts doing what he was doing that looked so good on his youtube videos before we got him.

They used to call him Le TGV, ie fast, powerful; it wasnt long before he became Le British Rail, was it...
