Arsenal v West Ham Utd: half time report

West Ham have successfully nullified Arsenal's threat in a first half tactical triumph at the Emirates Stadium.

Gianfranco Zola's side, who are unbeaten away from home since last October - a run of seven games - go into the break at 0-0 having given the home supporters virtually nothing to cheer thanks to a first half defensive masterclass.

Despite having created five shots at goal Arsenal have failed to test goalkeeper Robert Green who is yet to make a meaningful save, thanks to the concerted efforts of those in front of him.

Only Samir Nasri has given the Hammers any cause for concern, but Lucas Neill - who has been beaten twice by the youngster out wide - has been ably assisted by Valon Behrami.

At the other end the vocal travelling contingent of supporters had to wait until the second minute of first half injury time to cheer a United effort on goal; that coming from James Collins, whose goalbound header was cleared from virtually under the bar by Gael Clichy.
