West Ham's Eyal Berkovic is, according to sources today, the subject of attention from two top Italian clubs.

The Serie A sides, believed to be Torino and Milan, have apparently been watching Berkovic in action recently, and are ready to announce bids in order to prise the midfield genius away from Upton Park.

Reports also claim that one of the sides have already tabled a bid for £5m, which was rejected by the Hammers.

Irons manager Harry Redknapp has reiterated his earlier statement saying that West Ham are now a buying club looking to the future, with no need to sell their top stars.

Also in the news today, John Moncur has apparently been reassured by the club that he is not about to be transfer listed, and is very much part of manager Harry Redknapp's plans for the future.

The busy midfielder, 31, was dropped from the starting eleven recently for the first time since he joined the Hammers from Swindon Town some four seasons ago, and was unsure about his immediate future.
