Dr. Martens were officially unveiled as the clubs new sponsor in a news conference this afternoon.
The popular footwear company, who had until recently been sponsoring non-league Rushden and Diamonds, as well as the Ryman league, have signed a three year deal with the Hammers believed to be worth in the value of £3m.
The club had taken much criticism for failing to provide a sponsor last season (although many fans felt the shirts looked better without a corporate image splashed across the front !), however the board had always maintained that the final deal would be worth the wait.
Other companies who had been connected with the club have included Coca-Cola, South African Airways, and (frigteningly) Jiffi Condoms. The new shirt, complete with logo, should be released within the next couple of weeks.
