Margas on his way?

Much speculation still surrounds the possible move of Chilean centre-back Javier Margas to Upton Park.

Margas, 28, was due to sign for the Hammers last April, but was prevented from doing so by his club Universite, who wanted to retain the player for the remainder of their domestic season.

Margas, who played superbly for his nation throughout their World Cup adventure, was tipped by some sources to be unveiled as a new signing at todays press conference, although this was not to be.

It is no secret that both Harry Redknapp and Peter Storrie have been in France negotiating with the player - however, it would appear that at this stage no contract has been signed. Watch this space ...
