Brady: Spurs discredited football

Karren Brady has hit out at Tottenham in the wake of the phone records hacking scandal.

Brady - whose weekly column in the Sun returned this week - criticised the north London club who hired private investigators to obtain personal details and phone records belonging to employees of West Ham United and the OPLC.

Speaking in here column, Brady stormed: "There have been stories that the delay in confirming West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium threatens to thwart the nation's bid to host the world athletics champions there in 2017.

"Spurs have taken their baton home on this. And I don't like the way they are behaving. When a club reportedly stoops to employ private detectives to dig dirt on another, they're discrediting the game and themselves.

"I've told police my phone has either been hacked or private records acquired in what I'm sure will be a frustrated attempt to blacken my name and West Ham's."

West Ham's vice chair also hit back at former Hammers striker Benni McCarthy, who recently described Brady as 'the devil with tits'. "Nice of him," retorted Brady, adding: "But Benni, I'm meant to have tits, you aren't!"

''Season tickets? I thought this post was about Spurs' illegal hacking. I love the way people go off on a different tangent when faced with awkward questions.

We may be led by the xXx twins but Spurs are led by a crook in an Armani suit. We could be looking at jail time for some of the Spurs heirachy and THAT would be no more than the sore losers deserve.

On a lighter note; great retort by Brady to the useless Benni I thought. Classic!''

''Her club won the lottery with the stadium coup and I'm very pleased for them, but these owners and Ms Brady made a habit of speaking too much in public at BCFC and leopards clearly haven't changed their spots. You will never hear Daniel Levy crowing about other clubs in a newspaper column every week. It just isn't a very classy way to promote yourself, by spending all your time pointing fingers at other people. That's what makes most of our politicians so inept and maybe, just maybe it's led to WHU falling into the very tough spot they now find themselves in. Instead of stirring the pot all the time, Brady should try to do a better job of running WHU instead of running it into the ground.''

''A question I asked myself when we started saying this in the lead up to the Olympic preferred bidder. Never heard of a season ticket waiting list let alone one you pay to be on. The list is essentially Academy and junior Academy members, of which I am one. It allows people advance booking and is just in front of general public sales. Of course many on this list would not want or could have a season ticket for many reasons which is there are plenty to go round.

Of course this ambiguous method was also used by Spurs to big up their supporter figures during the OS bidding process. It is not a true estimate on those who would take up a season ticket if one was available.

To be fair that was a top comeback by Brady to Benni, some of these players have no shame.

On a separate note what a surprise to see Dyer stretchered off for QPR. Bet Warnock is regretting his comments about Dyer not being 'used properly' before his move to QPR.''

''I'm fairly certain this same Karren Brady recently said that West Ham had 17,000 people on a season ticket waiting list, can someone explain to me why if this is the case that WHU season tickets are on general sale?''
