Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Tottenham are in negotiations with West Ham over Scott Parker.

It was revealed last night that West Ham had agreed to open talks with Hotspur regarding the permanent transfer of the current Football Writers' Player of the Year.

Speaking this afternoon about the deal as he left training, Redknapp revealed that he would be delighted to land Parker, a player he has been chasing for some considerable time.

"I love Scotty, he's a fantastic player," Redknapp told Sky Sports. "Like any club, you'd love to have him in your team but I don't know where it's at.

"Daniel [Levy] is dealing with it, whether there's anything happening today I'm not sure. Hopefully we can get a deal done. If we can I'd certainly be pleased to have him here, that's for sure.

"We've been talking about him for quite a while now. It's up to the Chairman as to whether it's a deal he feels is worth doing financially. It'd be good. We've said all along that we've known the people we wanted but it's just been difficult."
