Sam Allardyce has confirmed that West Ham are talking to Tottenham with regards to the permanent transfer of Scott Parker.

The 30-year-old midfielder is on the verge of landing the move he has craved all summer - but according to Allardyce, Parker will only be allowed to go on terms favourable to West Ham.

"There's some dialogue going on at the moment and that's all I'm aware of," West Ham's manager told Sky Sports. "In terms of what level it's at I know that a deal has not been struck at this moment in time for Scott Parker.

"That depends on whether someone reaches the owner's valuation."

Although the sale of Parker would provide a huge boost to Allardyce's transfer war chest, one player the extra cash definitely won't be spent on is Joey Barton.

The former Newcastle midfielder today signed a four-year deal with Premier League new boys Queens Park Rangers.
