Turkish international Burak Yilmaz continues to be linked with a move to West Ham. You lucky, lucky thing...
The 26-year-old Trabzonspor striker, desribed elsewhere as 'prolific' continues to be cited as a potential target depite United facing competition for his signature from the likes of Tottenham and Lazio, according to the tabloids.
Some reports claim that the Hammers have held talks with the player's agent, Ali Egesel, although there has been no confirmation as of yet from either Egesel or Yilmaz, whose current contract is said to include a €5 million release clause.
Another goal getter who continues to be linked with the Hammers is FC Copenhagen striker Dame N'Doye, whilst at the other end of the field Inter's Dejan Stankovic (link courtesy of our old friend Gianluca Di Marzio) and Sporting Gijon centre half Alberto Botia (Daily Fail) have been mentioned in passing.
Additionally some sources claim West Ham are interested in securing the services of Senegalese defender Abdoulaye Ba; QPR are also said to be in the hunt for the 21-year-old Porto player.
Meanwhile the Twitter account attributed to young Jack Sullivan, son of co-owner David informs us that the club have failed to land one of their targets after the player, later confirmed as a defender, failed a medical.
With Rennes captain Kader Mangane said to have been in London at the weekend the smart money is on him being the likely candidate.
Another player definitely not on his way to East London is Norwich striker Grant Holt who, having previously declared a desire to leave Carrow Road, yesterday signed a new three-year contract with the Canaries.
Finally some confirmed news; Mexican international Pablo Barrera has left the club; you may read more about that deal here.
