Jonjo: sponsor wanted, can you help?

Young West Ham fan Jonjo Heuerman is looking for a supporter, group of fans or a company to sponsor his next planned walk in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research.
Little Jonjo, who has already raised in excess of £80,000 for the Fund is hoping to travel to Los Angeles in the near future in order to partake in a walk from the Hollywood Bowl to LA Galaxy's stadium, The Home Depot Center - a distance similar to the 24 miles that he covered on his first march from Wembley to the Boleyn Ground.
However due to the costs involved - and not wishing to use funds already raised for the charity in order to finance the trip - it is dependent upon a kind-hearted sponsor stepping forward to assist.
The idea to take his campaign to the US came about after the ten-year-old, who has been working tirelessly on behalf of the Bobby Moore Fund since 2010 received a letter from the daughter of two Hammers fans who now live in the United States.
"Jonjo received a message from a little girl called Nathalia, who is also 10 years old, inviting him to travel to LA to walk with her there," Jonjo's mother Donna told KUMB. "She had heard his story and was inspired to help him raise funds for cancer research.
"But I have explained to Jonjo that it can only happen if we can find a corporate sponsor to cover the air fares and basic accomodation, as we will not use any of the funds he has raised for the charity.
"Our family has paid for everything to do with JJ's fund-raising so far but we just could not cover the cost of travelling to the United States. However we know that a walk there could raise a significant amount of money for the fund.
"His Dad would stay behind although I would need to travel with him whilst his sister, who supports him and started the fund-raising mission by raising £10,000, would also like to walk with him.
"The plan is for Jonjo to travel, rest a day (jet lag), complete the three-day walk, rest for a day and return home. We are hoping to join with the American equivilent of Cancer Research UK and split the proceeds from the fundraising.
"Fox News LA are already following JJ on Twitter and we have a great support network with CRUK who deal with a lot of his admin and all of his fundraising finances. They are on standby to help if we can get the sponsorship.
"Jonjo has sent lots of messages to people in America who may be in a position to help. He has even emailed President Obama who he says is a West Ham supporter, although we've not received a response yet! "
If either yourself or your company may be in a position to assist with sponsorship and would like further details, please drop us a line here at KUMB (contact details here) or by contacting Jonjo's team at fornannyandbobby@sky.com.

''Shouldn“t these kids be encouraged to support far more worthy causes such as Richard House? 40 years+ with billions raised yet no cure of different treatment for cancer has been found. All these kids are doing is subsidising the pharmaceutical industry. All these money donated these pharmaceuticals and they never appear to be answerable to where all this huge money goes. They“re not interested in cures, there is no profit in cures.
Surely prevention/awareness is the best cure for cancer, no? Alcohol consumption has strongly been linked as the primary cause of testicular cancer. What are the goals for this Bobby Moore cancer fund? Normally less than 40% raised goes on actual research the rest goes on administration. There are very negative sides to cancer research charities.
SUPPORT RICHARD HOUSE KUMB WHERE THE WORK DONE IS TANGIBLE & REAL! Jonjo, change your charity!''

''Have you seen the new villa kit? It's more or less the same as ours. Let's hope we don't end up having to pull on the away kit when they kick off on the opening day of the Prem. LOL...''
