Yossi deal in the balance

West Ham are hoping to secure one more signing ahead of tonight's 11pm deadline - that of former midfielder Yossi Benayoun.

The Israeli international, who walked out of Upton Park five years ago to join Liverpool despite having already agreed to sign a new contract at the Boleyn Ground could be on his way back to east London if West Ham can agree terms with Benayoun's current club Chelsea.

The 32-year-old initially joined West Ham in 2005 when he snubbed Bolton and their manager Sam Allardyce to join United, managed at the time by Alan Pardew.

However that fact hasn't prevented Allardyce from returning for the playmaker, who has been at Stamford Bridge since 2010.

More on this as it happens...
