WBA v West Ham Utd: half time report

It's been a scrappy opening 45 minutes at the Hawthorns this afternoon...

No goals at the break and very little action to report on sum up a disappointing first half between West Brom and West Ham in today's Premier League clash.

However the best chances of the game have fallen to Sam Allardyce's side who really should be ahead at the break.

A 32ns minute Mark Noble corner was nodded back into the six-yard box by James Collins, seemingly putting it on a plate for Winston Reid. However the New Zealander failed to find the target from only four yards out, firing over the bar.

Matt Taylor had given the home side a scare after just five minutes when his header from a Carlton Cole cross landed on the roof of the net - and Cole himself stung the hands of Albion goalkeeper Boaz Myhill nine minutes ahead of the break when he won the ball in midfield before firing from long range.

At the other end Albion have barely threatened Jussi Jaaskelainen's goal with Shane Long's two efforts that narrowly missed the target the home side's best chances.

We'll have more for you at the final whistle.
