West Ham United have completed the signing of Roger Johnson from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old central defender had been on loan with Championship side Sheffield Wednesday but has joined West Ham for the rest of the season in order to ease Sam Allardyce's chronic defensive injury problem.

Johnson should make his debut against Manchester City in the first leg of the Carling Cup semi final on Wednesday night.
