The KUMB.com Podcast: a Bobby Moore special

Filed: Monday, 24th February 2014
By: Staff Writer

It's 21 years today since West Ham United's greatest son Bobby Moore passed away.

To commemorate the occasion of Moore's passing, the KUMB Podcast team recorded a special one-off Podcast last year featuring the likes of Trevor Brooking, David Gold, Jonathan Pearce, Harry Redknapp, Jeff Powell and Russell Brand, which you may listen to once again below.

Here's the Podcast's James Longman...

"When I was a little boy, no more than three or four, Bobby Moore lived around the corner from me. He used to train by running up and down the hill my house was on. If I knew then what I knew now, I would have run out there and joined him every day, just trying to keep up.

"20 years after his untimely passing, he is still one of the great figures of English football. A Hammer, a hero, a legend to so many. Chris Scull and I thought we should mark his anniversary with a KUMB.com tribute podcast. We called in lots of favours and spoke to friends and fans of Bobby's.

"From Sir Trevor Brooking to co-chairman David Gold, Harry Redknapp to Hollywood star Russell Brand - to name just a few. They all speak so highly of the man, and the affection we all feel for him is evident over the course of the podcast.

"We really hope you enjoy it. This is our tribute to the man, the legend, the icon; Bobby Moore."

* Full list of Episode guests: Harry Redknapp, Brian Dear, Sir Trevor Brooking, Jeff Powell, Jonathan Pearce, Hugh Southon, Russell Brand, Ben Shephard, Mark Hunter, David Gold and Iain Dale.
