West Ham Utd v Southampton: half time report

It's level at the break in this afternoon's Premier League clash at the Boleyn.

West Ham took the kead through Mark Noble on 27 minutes when the Hammers captain's shot took a deflection off Maya Yoshida before finding the corner of the net.

But somewhat against the run of play, the visitors equalised on the stroke of half time when the Saints were criminally allowed a second stab at a free kick, which Morgan Schneiderlin guided into the far corner.

West Ham, still to win at home this season after disappointing results against Tottenham and Sheffield United were well in control throughout the opening period and will be disappointed at losing the lead.

However manager Sam Allardyce will still be reasonably pleased with his team's first half performance, even though it was marred by conceding a late equaliser.

We'll have more for you at the final whistle...
