Cheikhou Kouyate out for six weeks

By: Staff Writer

Cheikhou Kouyate is set for a lengthy spell on sidelines after sustaining a knock during Saturday's 3-1 win over Liverpool.

West Ham's 7million summer signing from Anderlecht had a scan earlier today which confirmed the bad news - as revealed this evening by co-chairman David Gold on Twitter.

The Senegal international pulled up in the first half of Saturday's game clutching his groin, before doing similar again in the second period.

Despite the apparent injury, Kouyate played the entire 90 minutes. He is now set to miss at least five Premier League fixtures.
