Thousands of young Hammers will be left disappointed again this Christmas after it was confirmed club shops would not be re-stocking replica kit before the new year.

For the second successive year, West Ham have been left short by kit supplier Adidas who have informed the club that a scheduled order will not be delivered in time for Christmas.

"Adidas informed the Club on Thursday that its major junior order for the Christmas period will not be delivered due to stock supply issues," read a statement on whufc.com.

"This disappointing news means that the Club will not be receiving any further children's replica kits this season and will therefore be out of stock in most junior sizes in the run-up to Christmas.

"In a statement, adidas said: 'Unfortunately due to stock supply issues we have been unable to provide the originally agreed quantities of the new West Ham United Matchwear in time for Christmas.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused to fans. We are confident that alternative adidas West Ham United clothing range can be found currently in stores.'"

Last Christmas fans were similarly disappointed when exactly the same thing happened, as West Ham sold their entire stock of replica junior shorts - only to be told that Adidas would not be supplying any more.

At the time, West Ham blamed "exceptional response" for the problem. "We advise all fans and make clear in our marketing communications at the start of the season to buy early to avoid missing out", read a statement published at the time.
