The ditch Blair project

Two more Academy graduates have been released by West Ham United, it has been confirmed.

Attacking midfielders Blair Turgott and Matthias Fanimo, aged 20 and 21 respectively have both been told they are surplus to requirements at the the club.

They two youngsters follow a series of Academy players who have been told their contracts will not be renewed at the end of the current season.

Ben Marlow, Kieran Bywater, Jamie Harney (now at Colchester) and Daniel Whitehead - whose contract was terminated with immediate effect just 72 hours ago - had previously left the club this month.

West Ham's Development Squad have endured a dreadful season so far and current sit bottom of the Under 21s Premier League table.

* Since going to press, Blair Turgott has confirmed his arrival at Coventry City.
