Morgan Amalfitano has extended his stay at West Ham by a further two years.

The French winger, who has been in and out of the first team picture in his debut season at the Boleyn signed a two-year contract extension this afternoon, one which ties him to West Ham until the summer of 2017.

"I am pleased," said Amalfitano, speaking on whufc.com. "It's the culmination of a good year. We're always trying to do our best and so I'm very pleased to have signed for two more years.

"I think I've impressed the management, I know that I can always do better and I hope to do so. I'll give it my all as I have done in the first eight months."

Amalfitano's new contract means that he will be part of the squad that steps out at the Olympic Stadium for the first time 17 months from now - and that's an opportunity he is very much looking forward to.

"I've not had a chance to see the Olympic Stadium yet but apparently it's a very, very beautiful Stadium," he added. "So I'm very pleased to be a part of the project and I always want to please our fans, as much as possible."
