Support West Ham, says Prime Minister

Prime Minister David Cameron may be an Aston Villa supporter (or so he says) - but he instructed the entire country to follow West Ham in a speech this morning.

Cameron, who is fighting for a second term at Westminster made the gaffe when speaking at a rally ahead of the forthcoming general election, as you can see at the end of the short video below.

In a speech about multiculturalism and inclusivity, Cameron said: " We're a shining example of a country where multiple identities work.

"A country where you can be Welsh, Hindu and British; Northern Irish, Jewish and British; where you can wear a kilt or a turban or where you can wear a hijab covered in poppies; where you can support Man United, the Windies and Team GB all at the same time."

Then, clearly forgetting which team in claret and blue he was supposed to follow, Cameron added: "Of course I'd rather you supported West Ham," before realising his error, to the amusement of the crowd.
