Unai Emery remains the bookies' favourite tonight to become West Ham United's 15th full-time manager.
The 43-year-old Seville boss, who is entering the final year of his contract with the La Liga side is 8/13 on to snub his current employers and become West Ham's new boss.Emery, who has led Seville to back-to-back Europa League successes was invited to London this week for talks with co-owner David Sullivan regarding potentially succeeding Sam Allardyce.
Earlier rumours that he was in London on Wednesday remain unconfirmed at time of writing and were contradicted by an image posted on his Twitter account in the afternoon, in which he is watching his son play football.
Despite his position as punters' choice for the Hammers role, Emery also met officials from Italian club Napoli earlier this week to discuss their vacant managerial position following the departure of Rafa Benitez to Real Madrid.
And although he is yet to comment on West Ham's interest, rumours emanating from Spain earlier in the day claimed that he was set to reject both West Ham's and Napoli's advances in order to remain with Seville for another season.
Privately West Ham believe their chances of landing Emery are slim - which, if correct, could bring Slaven Bilic back into the frame.
The former Besiktas coach is believed to be the Board's favoured candidate amongst those who have thus far indicated their desire to become West Ham United's 15th full time manager.
Bilic, whose contract with the Turkish club was terminated by mutual consent last month is keen to try his luck in the Premier League - as are others including former Chelsea midfielder Slavisa Jokanovic, currently in charge at Championship side Watford.
Across the channel another of West Ham's potential targets, Marseille boss Marcelo Bielsa, is said to be close to agreeing a contract extension although reports claiming it would be completed over the weekend proved to be premature.
Like Emery, the 59-year-old Argentine has refrained from ruling himself out of the running for the West Ham job but is reported by L'Equipe to have already submitted his summer shopping list to Chairman Vincent Labrune.
