BO66Y: Moore than just a film

A Kickstarter funding campaign to fund a new movie about Bobby Moore was launched earlier this week.

'Bo66y the Movie' tells the story of England's greatest footballer, from triumph to tragedy, both on and off the pitch. And now Hammers fans are being invited to get involved with the project, which is seeking to raise £100,000.

Although the film will be made regardless of the success of the Kickstarter campaign, additional finance will enable the team behind the project to invest more time and money in it.

Broadcaster and West Ham supporter Matthew Lorenzo - whose father Peter was a close friend of the Moore family - is the brains behind the project, much of which has already been filmed.

"I've worked hard to pick the best team to make this documentary," he said. "Ron Scalpello is an experienced director who has worked for the BBC and has recently been signed to direct the remake of The Fourth Protocol.

"And, as a life-long West Ham fan, Ron feels a tremendous sense of responsibility in bringing Bobby’s life to the screen.

"There are dozens of other experienced and innovative professionals involved in this project. Every one of us has been working with a single goal in mind: to make our portrait of Bobby Moore a winner with sport lovers and film fans alike.

"With production already under way, we have secured interviews from those closest to Bobby as well as some of the biggest names in football and entertainment who were all excited to be involved with the project.

"We want to make this film for, and with, the football fans across the world. We hope that you will join us."
